PGPD PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision. The deceased pedestrian is 81-year-old Tomel Burke of Upper Marlboro.


On April 15, 2024, at approximately 11:05 pm, officers responded to the area of John Rogers Boulevard and Courtland Lane in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. Once on scene, officers located the pedestrian in the roadway suffering from trauma. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced deceased a short time later.

The preliminary investigation revealed the involved driver struck the pedestrian in the southbound lanes of John Rogers Boulevard. The driver remained on the scene. She was not injured.
