Stephen King Puts Nail in the Coffin of His Career With New Novel Reeking of Woke Propaganda
King’s work shifted from great, well-developed characters and creative scenarios to being largely focused on preaching left-wing propaganda, a slippery slope he’s been zooming down for many years now. I don’t mind messaging in my fiction, so long as it is creatively presented in the story’s subtext. I might disagree with the message, but I can still enjoy a well-told yarn. But King has ditched any pretense of being a storyteller in favor of being a propagandist, a fact his latest novel makes perfectly clear.
John Nolte, an entertainment writer for Breitbart News, put out a new report covering King’s new book, “Holly,” featuring a popular character with many, many mental health quirks from his hit “Mr. Mercedes” series, and revealed that it’s basically a progressive diatribe about COVID, featuring a white couple as the novel’s antagonists. And guess what? The bad guys are racist anti-vaxxers.
Nolte pointed to a review produced by the folks over at the American Thinker, which details all the hate and bigotry contained in the book:

Now, King is a man who clearly keeps up with the news, but he must not do so from any other perspective than his own, because if he were truly as well informed as he pretends to be, he’d know that the vast majority of these awful nursing home deaths were the result of policies put in place by Democrats, like former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who took patients with COVID infections and stuffed as many as possible in nursing homes around high-risk individuals who ended up catching the illness, developing all kinds of complications, and ultimately succumbing to the sickness.
“Wenner created a firestorm doing publicity for his new book ‘The Masters,’ which features interviews with musicians Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Townshend, and U2’s Bono — all white and male,” reports the Associated Press.
The book sounds like a Boomer’s dream come true, but it wasn’t enough that Wenner only limited his list of “masters” to white men. Nope, he had to make it worse by getting a little mouthy about why he only wrote about the white guys.
Wenner made things worse for himself in a New York Times interview that the paper published on Friday. Interviewer David Marchese confronted Wenner about his choice of interview subjects, saying, “In the introduction, you acknowledge that performers of color and women performers are just not in your zeitgeist. Which to my mind is not plausible for Jann Wenner.”
In other words, Marchese believes that somebody as progressive as Wenner couldn’t possibly only want to interview the most derivative and predictable collection of interview subjects that he did. Wenner responded to that backhanded gushing by shoving his foot so far into his mouth that he kicked his tonsils.
“The selection was not a deliberate selection,” Wenner replied. (Huh? Did you accidentally choose the interviews you included in the book?) “It was kind of intuitive over the years; it just fell together that way. The people had to meet a couple criteria, but it was just kind of my personal interest and love of them.”
It got worse when Wenner added, “Insofar as the women, just none of them were as articulate enough on this intellectual level.” Yeah, he said that, and when Marchese graciously allowed him to backtrack and clarify, Wenner didn’t do himself any favors.
“It’s not that they’re not creative geniuses,” Wenner elaborated. “It’s not that they’re inarticulate, although, go have a deep conversation with Grace Slick or Janis Joplin. Please, be my guest. You know, Joni was not a philosopher of rock ’n’ roll. She didn’t, in my mind, meet that test. Not by her work, not by other interviews she did. The people I interviewed were the kind of philosophers of rock.”
Why didn’t he lead with the “philosophers of rock” thing? Then Wenner got down to why he didn’t include black artists in his book.
“Of Black artists — you know, Stevie Wonder, genius, right?” Wenner went on, clearly not worrying about winning or losing any fans here. “I suppose when you use a word as broad as ‘masters,’ the fault is using that word. Maybe Marvin Gaye, or Curtis Mayfield? I mean, they just didn’t articulate at that level.”
Wow. Why did Wenner dig himself into such a deep hole? Why didn’t he simply say, “I interviewed the artists I gravitated to the most and who interested me the most”?
Marchese even gave him an out with his next (rambling) question: “Don’t you think it’s actually more to do with your own interests as a fan and a listener than anything particular to the artists? I think the problem is when you start saying things like ‘they’ or ‘these artists can’t.’ Really, it’s a reflection of what you’re interested in more than any ability or inability on the part of these artists, isn’t it?”
But in his answer, Wenner revealed his true leftist colors by reducing it all to box-checking: “You know, just for public relations sake, maybe I should have gone and found one Black and one woman artist to include here that didn’t measure up to that same historical standard, just to avert this kind of criticism.”
Is Steven Avery Directing Supporters To Tank Candace Owens’ ‘Convicting A Murderer’ Review Score?
It seems Steven Avery himself, from behind bars, may be directing supporters to tank the Rotten Tomatoes’ audience review score of Daily Wire host Candace Owens’ docuseries “Convicting a Murderer” (CAM).
Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, were convicted of murdering photographer Teresa Halbach back in 2007. The pair are featured in Netflix’s limited series “Making a Murderer” (MAM), garnering attention from celebrities and others online contending Avery is innocent. Owens’ “CAM” tells the other side of the Avery case, specifically sharing information omitted or arguably manipulated within “MAM.”
“IMPORTANT: Steven is asking for all his supporters to flood Rotten Tomatoes and give ‘Convicting a Murderer’ a bad review,” reads a post on the Facebook group called “Steven Avery is INNOCENT.” “This garbage and vitriol is NOT TRUE and we need our community to step up and let Candance [sic] Owens know that STEVEN AVERY IS INNOCENT!”
National Cathedral replaces windows honoring Confederacy with stained-glass homage to racial justice
The landmark Washington National Cathedral unveiled new stained-glass windows Saturday with a theme of racial justice, filling the space that had once held four windows honoring Confederate Gens. Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.
The new windows depict a march for justice by African Americans, descendants of the very people who would have remained in slavery after the Civil War if the side for which the officers fought had prevailed.
The cathedral had removed the old windows after Confederate symbols featured prominently in recent racist violence.
The dedication service was attended by many clergy from the Washington area’s historically Black churches, as well as leaders of social justice organizations. The prayers, Bible readings and brief speeches were interspersed with gospel music and spirituals, as well as the contemporary song, “Heal Our Land.”
WGA strike: Hollywood studios send writers ‘best and final’ offer as deal nears on strike
“The WGA and AMPTP met for bargaining on Saturday and will meet again on Sunday,” the two groups said in a statement.
The big four studio bosses — Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav, Disney chief Bob Iger, Netflix co-chief Ted Sarandos, and NBCUniversal studio chairman Donna Langley — were no longer in the Sherman Oaks room by Saturday afternoon, one person said, signaling nearly all the major issues had been resolved. The person stressed, while not directly in the room, the studio chiefs remained wholly engaged in the process.
Spokespeople for the AMPTP and the WGA did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The WGA, which has over 11,000 members, has been on strike since May 2 with the work stoppage reaching its 145th day on Saturday. The strike is within two weeks of the longest strike in the union’s history, which lasted 154 days in 1988. Many productions had halted even before SAG-AFTRA joined the WGA on strike July 14.
Negotiations between the WGA and AMPTP have involved disputes over wages, worker protections, and artificial intelligence.

It all started during the pandemic in 2021, when Mehran Jalali’s housemates decided to mark their biweekly steak dinners he would cook for them by marking their location as a chop house on Google Maps.
The roommates then started leaving rave reviews of the meal they had leading total strangers to show up at their home wanting to dine on this wonderful meal.
In response, Mehran ended up creating a website for their booked, “revolutionary steak experience.” And by the end of 2022, the fake chop house had accrued nearly 3,000 people on the waiting list, the outlet noted.
So Jalali and his pals decided to make their fake restaurant a reality and gathered volunteers, found a venue, got a one-day liquor license and food handling permits. He then hopped on a plane to New York, because he currently lives in California, and the group picked some 200 people to invite to attend the exclusive fake steak house.
Many of the patrons who attended seemed to miss the subtle hints that it was all a joke, including portraits hanging in the lobby showing Mehran posing with celebrities throughout the generations, like Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Obama and JFK, he had supposedly cooked for over years and years.
I love the novel, reread it once a year. The movie meant nothing to me.
